Commission a Custom Piece

From sculptural centrepieces to boards crafted with meaning, your idea begins with a conversation and ends with a one-of-a-kind piece made to be lived with every day.

The Process

  1. Discuss your idea
Tell us what you have in mind — size, purpose, preferred species, or even just the feeling you want the piece to have.
  2. Choose the timber
We select slabs from our own salvaged stock, milled and seasoned on the property. Each slab has its own character and story.
  3. Crafting and shaping
Your piece is cut, shaped and finished entirely by hand. The natural features of the timber guide the design.
  4. Completion and collection
Finished pieces can be collected from Bucketty or shipped with protective packaging and insured freight.

Craft with Purpose

Fallen Timbers is shaped by more than craft. The workshop is part of a wider practice grounded in mentoring, care and creating opportunities for young people who often fall outside traditional supports.

When appropriate, young people are invited into the space to learn the basics of safe tool use, observe the shaping of raw slabs into finished work, and build confidence through simple, achievable tasks. Working with timber is grounding; the weight, smell and texture of the material help calm the nervous system and create a sense of focus.

Every commission helps sustain this work. It keeps the workshop running, supports our ability to guide young people, and ensures that the timbers we salvage continue to become something meaningful.
